Project Results:
A series of acquisitions brought new international manufacturing and service capabilities to the organization dramatically increasing the size and complexity of the business almost overnight. The new organization required significant restructuring to take advantage of new distribution, brand awareness and sourcing capabilities.
Leadership needed a way to rapidly leverage talents of the combined management team, develop a vision for the future and the metrics needed to measure progress toward organizational goals. They wanted to get best thinking from the entire team on how to arrange the new organization's collective strengths to exceed customer expectations in an increasingly competitive international market place.
Group Solutions was engaged to provide consulting, facilitation and technology for a series of planning and budgeting workshops.
Working simultaneously, the team was able to identify a vision for becoming globally competitive and define several versions of organizational excellence. "Turf battles" were avoided because of the anonymous input and the fact that all members had equal access to participate.
The group described the ability to be anonymous and share ideas without being evaluated as central to the process. Unconventional approaches and ideas that might have been overlooked were examined and explored without fear of attribution or negative action.
Vision and guiding principles were developed and refined in a transparent and open process with full participation from the leadership team and their direct reports. The company has maintained customer focus, manufacturing innovation and grown to become a global leader in fishing tackle.
